12th Academic – Public – Private Partnership Forum (APPPF)

Uganda Martyrs University (UMU) attended the 12th Academic – Public – Private Partnership Forum (APPPF) – 2023. The event organised by the Inter -University Council for East Africa (IUCEA) took place at the Julius Nyerere International Conference Centre in Dar es Salaam -Tanzania from 15th – 17th March 2023 under the theme; “Nurturing Sustainable Skills Development for Graduate Employability through Academia – Industry Partnerships”. UMU was represented by the Vice Chancellor – Prof. Patrick Edrin Kyamanywa, the Centre Leader for ACALISE – Dr. Jude Ssebuwufu, the Principal Investigator for ACALISE – Dr. Joseph Ssemakula, the Public Relations Officer – Ms. Margaret B. Nangooba and the National Coordinator for Advocacy Coalition for Sustainable Agriculture (ACSA) – Ms. Harriet Nakasi.
ACSA is closely working with ACALISE to create a platform that bridges the gap between University students and farmers to respond to the needs of the community. The event structure consisted of exhibitions, panel discussions, plenary keynote presentations and a high – level interactive session with partners.
Uganda Martyrs University exhibited the Vermiculture innovation; Wood Ash Organic Products innovation; Bio Slurry turning wasteland into Arable land; Science of the Rabbit Urine Concentrate; among other best practices in Sustainable Organic Agriculture.
