The African Centre of Excellence in Agroecology and Livelihood Systems (ACALISE) in partnership with Advocacy Coalition for Sustainable Agriculture (ACSA) and Uganda Organic Certification Company Limited (UgoCert) initiated a platform dubbed “Farmer -Student Innovation Research, Exchange Platform and Exhibition”. This platform brings together Farmers, Students and different Policy Makers from different Civil Society Organizations (CSO), Academia, Private Sector and Government Agencies to share knowledge and insights regarding the promotion of Sustainable Agriculture, Agricultural market development, Environmental conservation and research and advocacy.
A series of Farmer -Student Innovation Research, Exchange Platform and Exhibitions, which are unique and the first of their kind in Uganda have been organized under the theme: “Bridging the gap between student research and farming community” aimed at bringing together all farmer innovators and research students to share the previous and the ongoing research/innovation projects that address farmers’ challenges among the different stakeholders thus increasing farmer’s understanding of policy issues affecting small holder farmers.
The Overall Objective of this exchange platform is to provide a platform for wider stakeholders in Uganda to share organic Innovations and research that will address the gaps and needs of the Organic Agriculture sub sector in Uganda thereby contributing to the implementation of the National organic Agriculture policy (NOAP) 2019.
